Help! I need Aboriginal Teacher Resources!

If you have specific questions, ideas or comments on how you could integrate principles of Aboriginal Culture or Indigenous Knowledge into your classroom or workplace, please feel free to post your questions, ideas and comments here. Information and resource links will continue to be added to this blog.

  1. Our grade 4/5 class really enjoyed the "Dancing with our Elders" kit from the Museum of Anthropology, as it connected us to personal stories of dance, weaving, and aboriginal history. All of which helped students make enriched connections to their own family histories as they worked on an integrated socials/art family history project and was an affordable hook into the museum.

  2. On the Path of the Elders launches Wednesday, March 24th at

It's a free online resource exploring the history and culture of the Mushkegowuk Cree and Anishinaabe Ojibway of Northwestern and Northeastern Ontario, and the signing of Treaty No. 9.

It's ideal for students aged 13-17.

    It includes:

    - Educational kits and curriculum connections for teachers
    - six role-playing games
    - over 300 archival photographs
    - video and audio clips of Elders

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions!
