Musqueam Workshop on Tuesday, January 28, from 9 - 11 am.

In this session, you will have a unique opportunity to engage with some of the values, vision, history and culture of the Musqueam Nation. You will also find out what Musqueam offers for public educational outreach and discuss ways that instructors and other campus leaders can incorporate this into campus curricula and operations.

This session will be led by Terry Point (Researcher/Community Outreach), Larissa Grant (Library and Information Technology), and Dianne Sparrow (Associate Director) from the Musqueam Treaty, Lands and Resources Department:

Terry Point will lead a short walking tour in the community and welcome you to the Musqueam Cultural Education Resource Centre that we will be meeting in. This centre features a gallery with cultural objects and contemporary art, along with spaces where the Musqueam people can share their history and culture from their own perspective.

Larissa Grant and Dianne Sparrow will share about the Musqueam Comprehensive Community Plan called nə́c̓aʔmat tə šxʷqʷeləwən ct (We Are of One Heart and Mind): http://www.musqueam.bc.ca/one-heart-one-mind.

If you have any questions regarding this session, please send your inquiry to Sarah at aboriginal.initiativesgaa@ubc.ca.
