On Thursday, October 31, Richard Wagamese gave a reading from his book Indian Horse, at UBC's Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. Inspired by W.P. Kinsella's book Shoeless Joe, Indian Horse was a marriage of two great Canadian motifs: hockey, and Aboriginal people. In his talk, Wagamese described how Residential Schools inflicted a bruise on the psyche of all Canadians, and how his hope is that in response to Indian Horse, Canadians will answer yes, let us move forward together.
