The First Nations House of Learning, the Indian
Residential School Survivors Society, the Morris and
Helen Belkin Gallery and Museum of Anthropology
are working in collaboration to host a teacher’s
professional development day at UBC on October
25.
The Pro-D day will provide an opportunity for teachers to engage, reflect, and develop the tools, strategies and resources they may need to teach the history of residential schools in Canada and to move towards reconciliation.
The day includes a visit to:
Speaking to Memory: Images and Voices from St. Michael’s Indian Residential School
at Museum of Anthropology
&
Witnesses: Art and Canada’s Indian Residential Schools
at the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery
&
The First Nations House of Learning
for a discussion and resource sharing &
Coffee, lunch and take away resources.
